Request headers are used to provide additional information to an HTTP request. For example, you could use it to specify a specific configuration to limit the results returned. Request headers can be related to authorization servers for use when authenticating, Web APIs when retrieving meta data, and widgets when executing a request.

  1. In the Dashboards feature set, select Create Request Header.

  2. Type a name for the request header.

  3. Type the required key and the value to use.

  • In addition to standard HTTP request headers, OData headers are also supported. For more information, see OData headers in Web API v1 or v2.

  • When using an environment variable, the request header is not sent with the request to resolve the environment variable.
