Every user must have a unique user account with assigned roles on domain(s).

Before you begin

The required user role and domain must already be created.

About this task

Before a user can use AcceleratorKMS, you must first add them as a user. Each user must have a unique user account, so that tasks and content can be assigned, and that completion reports identify the specific user who completed the content.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click the gear icon > Users.

The system displays the Users page.

  2. Click Add new user.

    The User window opens.

  3. Complete the user account fields.

    Description

    Name

The user's first name and last name separated by a space.

    Username

The name used to log in to the application.

After the Username has been saved, it cannot be changed. Typically, when using Single Sign-On, the user's email address is specified for Username. The Username must be unique for every user account in the system, that is for active, locked and disabled accounts.

    Disabled

If a check mark appears in this check box, the user is prevented from logging in and is no longer listed when assigning tasks and completions. For more details, see one of the following:

    Locked

If a check mark appears in this check box, the account has exceeded the maximum number of failed login attempts and has been locked. For more details, see Disabling a user account.

    Email

    The user's email address.

    Language

User's preferred language. Select language from the drop-down list.

    Domains and roles

Used to add domain access and assign roles to the user. Click the Add domain access field to see a list of domains. Select a domain and enter text to search for roles by name or click the List all option to select roles from the full list.

Each role has specific role operations that determine which actions a user can perform. If you need more information about role operations, see the Role operations section for a description of roles applied by domain and roles applied globally.

    Log in options

    Options include:

Single sign on is enabled - User can log in with an organizational account.
