On the RCM tab of the equipment screens and the RCM Templates screen you will find an Import from RCM Template button. Clicking this button will bring up a popup where you can select the RCM Template to import and where you can decide the following:
Import Probabilities: If selected the system will import the entered probabilities from the source template. Otherwise, if unselected, the system will import all other data but will leave the Probability field blank on any imported functional failures or failure modes.
Import Consequences: If selected the system will import the entered consequences from the source template. Otherwise, if unselected, the system will import all other data but will leave the Consequence field blank on any imported consequence categories.
Import Mitigation: If selected the system will import the mitigation records from the source template. Otherwise, if unselected, no mitigation data will be imported. If the template does not have any mitigation data, the checkbox will be unselected and protected. Also note that the system will always set the Mitigation Applied checkbox on all imported mitigation records to unselected.
The grid of this popup shows all templates previously imported and this list is also the source for the Where Used tab on the RCM Templates screen.
All imported records will reference their source. The source will be visible in the Source Code, Source Org., and Source Type fields available on both the RCM tab and the RCM Failure Mitigation tab of the equipment and the RCM Templates screens.
If a template is imported that has Failure Mode Library selected, the system will recognize it concerns a library record and will behave slightly different than for a regular template. As follows:
From the RCM tab of the template only the failure mode record will be imported.
The Failure Mode Library field of the imported failure mode will be populated automatically with the imported template code.
Depending on the RCM Level of the equipment or the template you are importing to, the system will ask what the parent of the new failure mode will be. This will be:
A Function when the RCM Level is FMECA
A Functional Failure when the RCM Level is Classic RCM
Not applicable for a Risk Analysis, since failure modes are in a separate node in the RCM tree.
Note that if the equipment or template RCM Level is Risk Assessment, no failure modes can be imported.
